The Crossroads Five – September

Theme: Guidance From the Blood

September’s Crossroads Five allows you to choose any combination of five community jars and place the weight of the work exactly where you need it. Under the theme Guidance From the Blood, this month’s working draws on ancestral wisdom while giving you the freedom to decide which areas of your life need the greatest attention.

Choose from Health, Love, Protection, Money, and Sour in any combination. You may select all five workings once, repeat the same jar several times, or build a combination around the circumstances you are facing now. You might choose three Money jars, one Protection, and one Health. You might choose two Love, two Protection, and one Sour. All five selections can also be devoted to a single condition when that area of your life needs concentrated work.

Each selection will be prepared according to its purpose. Health petitions will be worked with healing and strengthening roots and herbs beneath blue and white candles. Love petitions will be worked for affection, attraction, reconciliation, and lasting bonds beneath pink and red. Protection petitions will be surrounded with guarding roots and herbs beneath red and white. Money petitions will be worked with prosperity herbs and magnetic elements beneath green and gold. Sour petitions will be worked with vinegar, peppers, sulfur, alum, and other traditional souring materials to weaken enemies, interfere with malicious plans, and push trouble away from your life.

Every petition will be written by hand, dressed with its appropriate condition oil, and placed into the corresponding jar. Psalms and prayers will be chosen according to your five selections, and your chosen workings will be tended together throughout the month as part of the September community altar.

The ancestral focus of Guidance From the Blood will run through the entire working. The healing knowledge, resourcefulness, protective instincts, relationship wisdom, and hard-earned survival skills of the family line will be acknowledged according to the conditions you select. September asks us to remember that our ancestors left us more than names and photographs. They left lessons about making a way, choosing wisely, protecting what matters, surviving difficult seasons, and knowing when trouble needs to be handled.

The Crossroads Five gives you five places at the altar. Choose them according to where your life needs the most attention.

Suggested Alignment:
Place a glass of fresh water beside a photograph or written names of your deceased ancestors and say, “Those who came before me, help me use wisely what you learned. Strengthen my judgment, guide my hands, and help me make a good way forward.” Think carefully about your five selections. Choose according to the conditions that genuinely need work in your life now.

Send your full name, date of birth, and your five jar selections. Choose any combination of Health, Love, Protection, Money, and Sour, including multiples of the same jar. Include a short petition for each selection explaining what you want worked. You may also include the name of a deceased ancestor whose strength, wisdom, or example you wish to honor in your personal prayers during September.
